In IranYour Adventure Begins
This is an adventure of extremes and not for the faint hearted. Desserts vs. Forrest. Sea vs. Rivers, sea level vs. up to thousands of meters. Our Beluga Delight tour will take you from the easternmost part of Iran along the Turkmenistan border, through countless national parks, crossing the Alborz mountain range four times up to the highest active volcano in Asia. You name it. You get it.
Day 01 - Welcome to Eastern Iran, Mashhad
This is the second largest city in Iran and where our motorcycle fun begins. Take some time to arrive stroll around the city and relax in a tea house nearby but also now it’s time to get excited for the adventure that lies ahead of us. If you can make it check out the imposing Imam-Reza-Shrine, particularly splendid in the sunset light.
Day 02 - Mashhad to Kalat Nader
After grabbing our bikes we leave the buzzling city traffic and head north to the land of the Zafaranlu-Nomads. Hovering over lush green hills and mountains we head for the Kalat Nader valley which we access through the canyon.
Day 03 - Kalat Nader to Dargaz
On hilly roads we reach an area where from May to August the Jalay-Nomads are settling down with their tents and camels. Get lost in the pristine views of endless hills and feel like a motorcycle nomad.
Day 04 - Dargaz to Shirvan
Our tour today takes us close to the Turkmenistan border which we follow north before crossing the Tandoureh national park. In one spectacular ride we climb up the pass road above 2200m and cross the Hezar Masjed Mountains. After that success, we then head for a well deserved tea break in Quchan on the other side of the mountain range, before we reach our destination for today, Shirvan.
Day 05 - Shirvan to Kalaleh
Today is long, and epic! We get up early as we ride all day through the magnificent Golestan national park. The closer we come to the caspian sea the greener the landscape becomes. At the other end of the golestan forest we refresh and take a plunge into the Loveh waterfall, just around the corner of Kalaleh.
Day 06 - Gonbad Tour (or Rest Day)
A short tour to the Khalid Nabi cemetery embedded in a superb hilly landscape gives us sufficient time to relax and loosen up a little after the strenuous riding of the last days. If there is still some energy left we may explore some hidden trails in the northwestern part of Golestan national park.
Day 07 - Kalaleh to Gorgan
We are heading west and getting closer to the caspian sea. Right before we ride into the Chel-Cheli national park you should not miss out to take a swim in the Shirabad waterfall.
Day 08 - Gorgan to Shahrud
Mountains and more mountains. On our way to Shahrud we climb up passes more than 2600m to cross the Alborz mountain range. Along the foot of the 4000m high Kuh-e Shahvar we cool down from the thrilling ride and roll through the Tuskestan jungle towards Shahrud for well deserved Persian tea time.
Day 09 - Shahrud to Kiasar
After our stop over at the south side of the Alborz mountain range we finally take the jump in direction caspian sea. We ride high up the western part with a stop over at the Badap-e surt springs before we reach Kiasar deep up in the hills where we pitch our camp for tonight.
Day 10 - Kiasar to Babolsar
Today is bliss. We wake up riding in the fresh morning air through the lush Kiasar forest till we cross the Tajan river. From there on we leave the mountains behind us and follow the river canyon downstream where it meets the caspian sea. This might be Tajans final destination but we are not done yet and just stay for a night and relax at the Caspian Sea shore.
Day 11 - Babolsar to Nava
One last but epic ascend lies before us. We say goodbye to the caspian sea, kick in a low gear and from now on there is only one way: Up! From sea level we follow the Haraz river canyon upstream and climb all day till we reach Nava. From here we have the most spectacular view on the 5609m high active volcano Mount Damavand, the highest volcano in all Asia and the highest Peak in Iran. This is literally the peak of our journey where we just rest in this awe-inspiring scenery and let the sunset colour Mount Damavands snow peak in deep red while we sip our Persian sun-downer tea.
Day 12 - Nava to Tehran
Riding along the foot of this active volcano we go for our last ascend along the Haraz river into thin air up to 3000m above sea level. Through canyons and the Khojir National park we cruise towards the capital as the population becomes more noticeable and to the point where traffic is insane. Welcome to crazy Tehran! Explore the lovely Tajrish square with it's magnificent surrounding Bazaar and go for a nighttime walk on the Tabiat bridge with it's unique view all over Tehran. If you still feel your arms and bum from all the riding and still can’t get enough, there’s only one way to go: keep you bike and tackle with us the Zagros mountains and it’s countless +4000m peaks, the long way down, in our demanding but remarkable Candy Rock Tour.
