Stephan and Sylvie on their motorbike for the Iran tour

Sylvia and Stephan

As being from Austria the affection for mountains and motorcycles (KTM ;-) besides Schnitzel and Apfelstrudel of course, has ever since been imprinted in our genes. Our love to explore the world on two wheels never failed to bring us in contact with remotest cultures, most bizarre landscapes and best curves. From the southern chinese sea to the himalayan passes we followed the call for two-wheeled adventure and were rewarded with lasting experiences and friendships.

Ever since we were intrigued by Persia but uncertain at the same time. The more we read about it, the more we understood that it isn’t probably that bad at all, as the western media still tries to make us belief, but rather a country of extraordinary friendly people at the cradle of human civilisation. Soon it became obvious that we wanted to find out on our own and explore this hidden gem the best way possible: by motorbike!

Nothing easier than that we tried to organize our two wheels. Oh well. Not in Iran. We quickly realized that this country despite it’s attraction is so much off the beaten path that you can’t even rent a bike. Well, lesson learned.

After almost a year of trying to get hold of a motorcycle from abroad it became obvious that this by no means is a sustainable approach to explore Persia. After endless negotiations we still made it and this venture unexpectedly turned out as the ride of our lifetime. With the struggles we have overcome and lessons we have learned it was obvious what we had to do next: We want to share this experience with like-minded and enable others to see this awe-inspiring Iran and its people the same way we did, in the purest way possible: on two wheels. This is how ThePersianRide started.

ThePersianRide is a Swiss registered business and under Swiss management, which is located in Zurich, Switzerland. ThePersianRide tour operation is located in the heart of Persia, Tehran, Iran. This way we ensure a magnificent melange of the two most outstanding virtues, Swiss accuracy and Persian hospitality to provide you the best of both worlds. On the one hand we are at the heart of our customer in central Europe, as we share the same culture and values. On the other hand our tour operation is located where the magic happens in Persia, with their local knowledge overseeing everything from the caspian sea to the persian gulf, with the massive Zagros Mountain range in their backyard.

That said, we will do our best to leave you equally as shocked, in a positive way, as we were when returning home from our first ride in Persia, asking ourselves: “Why didn’t we go much earlier?” and “When do we go again?”.

Enjoy!

Farad

Meet Farhad - the Legend

Farhads path as Persian adventurer was set during his early days as a student which he spent more time on Iranian rocks climbing than in the lecture halls. Farhad has explored without exaggeration more than ninety percents of Iran’s nature. Then Europe caught his attention which he travelled extensively and is well familiar with it’s variety of customs and culture. Farhad has deep experience in the tourism sector which he has been working in since 2005. Unfortunately bad timing as Iran heavily suffered under sanctions from abroad during that time which affected the tourism in Iran significantly. Nevertheless, after sanctions were lifted he launched Iranadventure.com and is now keen to show bike enthusiasts the real Iran which is a highly diverse country where you can plow the snow on mount Damavand on two wheels and take a plunge in the Persian Gulf at the same time of the year. No one could oversee ThePersianRide operational business in Persia better than Farhad with his unique blend of deep local knowledge and Persian hospitality.
